The game is set in a dystopian future where AI has taken over and humanity is struggling to survive. It’s the first sci-fi MMO with an open world, no level cap, and full voice acting.
Massively is a website that focuses on MMOs and other games. They have released information about the Kid-centric sci-fi MMO NEO 2045 has officially launched (for real this time).
We featured NEO 2045, a sci-fi themed MMORPG for kids, in June of this year. Players may play online games or use tools to “terraform mountains and valleys and construct buildings and vehicles using dynamorphic components that link seamlessly,” akin to Roblox.
The game advertised itself as a released product on Steam, Google Play, and the App Store, but it also said in a press release that it is in a worldwide open beta, with a subsequent statement at the beginning of this month stating that it will be officially released on September 23rd. In both studies, we also observed that internet safety advice for parents was strangely unclear, inadequate, and difficult to locate.
Indeed, developer VR Realms is promoting the game’s “full-feature launch,” with highlighted features including its Snap game maker toolset, the addition of pet battles, and the promise of “a vast galaxy of sci-fi fun for gamers of all ages, regardless of your preferred play style, with action, quests, multiplayer and single player experiences, building and terraforming, or even just relaxing.”
As of this writing, the game has a Mixed rating on Steam and a comparable rating on the App Store and Google Play. Player safety and parental information, on the other hand, is a little simpler to come across, since it’s located at the bottom of the game’s main website.
